I’ve been blogging for a while now, and one of the most important parts of running a blog is being consistent with posts so that you have something to share with your followers. I also have to be careful about what I post because if it’s not relevant or interesting, then no one will read it! The thing is, posting takes time – hours every week (and sometimes more!). So how do bloggers automate their blogs? How can you automate your blog? Here are some awesome ways that can help you save time and focus on other aspects of your business.

Automate Your Blog Itself

First of all, you need to get the blog written. There are a couple of ways you can automate this. One is to use the power of AI, which I will talk about later on, or maybe in another blog post. There are many AI websites out there which will write blog posts for you. All you need to do is give them the basic information and they will come up with something that sounds like it’s written by a human. How cool, right?

The other way to automate with the creation of a blog is to use a blogging platform that can help you with all the hard work. For example, if you are an SEO fanatic like me, then I recommend using either Hubspot or SiteGround for your blog creation. Both of these sites offer free templates and layouts which will save you so much time when it comes to creating content. All this is done based on what keywords people search in Google so obviously they will be relevant to your business niche!

Outsourcing

You could also hire a virtual assistant to do it for you or even someone from Fiverr . You will have to spend some time training them on what needs to be done and how you want it done, though. If you’re going down this route, then pay close attention as there are ways they could completely mess up everything if they don’t follow instructions correctly! This way saves a lot of time because once your team member gets trained – off they go! They’ll take care of all future posts too so you don’t have to worry.

It may seem daunting but you don’t necessarily have to outsource the whole blog process. You could just outsource stages of it such as proof-reading, keyword research or scheduling. You could even hire someone else  to run these accounts if you’re not confident enough yet. This saves time once again by sharing posts at specific times throughout the day.

Images

If you use WordPress for your website, you can get lots of plugins that help with blogging. For example you can get plugins that help optimise the images you upload to your blog .

You can also use these plugins to schedule your blog posts (if you don’t want to outsource). There’s even a plugin called  Blogsy that lets you post and schedule from the same page. This way it’ll be super easy for anyone who is managing social media accounts as well as blogging, they won’t have to toggle between different tabs or programs! Once you’ve written all of your content and selected images, simply click publish – this will send it straight onto Facebook which has an auto-schedule feature so everyone gets their updates at once time!

And there we go… another blog post ready to automatically share on all your social media channels with just one simple press of a button!

When To Post

If you can automate more of your blogging process, this will free up more time for you to focus on growing your blog through other channels.

You can also use the scheduler when creating content in advance, like if you’re running or attending an event that you know will be worth blogging about (i.e.: a conference).

It’s good to setup a calendar reminder to remind you of the event and then schedule your post for a few days before and afterwards.

Using an editorial calendar is another good way to plan ahead and setup blog posts in advance, especially if you’re busy or traveling which can make it difficult to update your blog regularly.

You could even use this feature just as a reminder system so that every time you open up Facebook, or check email on your phone, there will be content waiting for you!

Another tip would be setting yourself some deadlines e.g.: “I’m going away next week but I want my blog ready by Tuesday”, with the scheduler tool at BufferApp , not only are these tasks automated but they can also help motivate you too.

When Not To Post

It is not recommended to post automatically while writing live updates during conferences and events. This could result in poor quality posts with errors. Instead choose one of the trending topics relevant to where you are currently at.

Think of the time of day for when your target audience will be most likely to be on social media.

The Social Media Side of Things

Another aspect of automating your blogging business is sharing on social media channels. There are many websites out there which allow bloggers to schedule tweets – some even let you make custom ones! I’m using an app called Buffer buffer.com. It’s absolutely amazing – all it does is schedule out your social media posts so that they go live at the best times throughout the day when people are more likely to be online! There are some great things about this too… Firstly, there’s no limit on how many accounts you have connected, this allows you to link Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc all in one place! Secondly, when you post to social media it will actually show the link of where your latest blog post is from – this way people can visit your site if they like what they see on social media.

Lastly (and most importantly!) Buffer has a built-in analytics section which allows me to check how many clicks each article receives after being shared… This means that I can judge posts better going forward so that future posts get more views! If a particular topic does great then I’ll know exactly what kind of content works for my audience so that I can write similar stuff in the future too.

All these tools allow me to streamline the flow of how a blog post is shared and really help me to grow my audience by using social media in the most effective way possible.

Backup Your Work

Imagine losing all your precious work? You can create automatic backups of your blog posts to your Google Drive, Dropbox or an external hard drive. This means that if anything happens to the blog – whether it’s a technical fault with your hosting provider or you accidentally delete the wrong file, you will be safe. Programs such as WP Database Backup can help with this.

Conclusion

So, what are you waiting for? Automate your blog today!

Social media automation is an easy way to grow your audience and share all of the amazing content that you create. It’s a great time saver for me, meaning I can focus on important things like taking pictures of my dog or eating cake.
