Which Online Marketing is best for a small business?

Online marketing can have a huge impact on your success, but which type of online marketing should you invest in to achieve the most success?  The Honest answer is that all types of Online Marketing are important.

There’s no one single Online Marketing technique that will get you more customers than another; it really comes down to what works best for your company industry, size and budget.

What do I recommend is the best marketing for small business?

Well, If I were in stocks and shares, this would be the “index fund” Approach. You know, where legendary investors point out the average Joe who regularly invested in a well-diversified portfolio beat fund managers year after year.

I believe with a little strategy and a little regularly investment in your business marketing your will see dividends in the form of hordes of new potential customers arriving at your business.

In this article, we’ll go over some different Online Marketing strategies that work well for businesses of any size.

Which marketing is best for small business? Online Marketing!

I want to explain that the best approach is to do a little of several types of online marketing as its affordable and measurable. SEO, PPC, Content marketing, Google places, Social Media Sharing, Email list collection, Newsletters & Video.

Online Marketing can be a great way to increase brand awareness, generate leads and new customers, and even sell products.  Here are some of the most popular Online Marketing strategies for small businesses:

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Launching a new website is like starting a retail shop on a high street. Except this high street is a single street with every shop in the world along it. Think about it, hoping your clients will accidentally find your website is idiocy. If you want your small business to succeed, then Online Marketing is a must!

The downside with SEO, although in the long term it can give you the best and most cost-effective results; It takes consistent effort and budget.

SEO, without doubt is the difference between small websites and Large. Adverts stop bringing customers when you stop paying for the ads. With evergreen content and the correct SEO strategy both on and off page – When the client attraction starts it continues.

That is why I always recommend the little and often approach both for momentum and to keep abreast of algorithm changes.

Go Local with your marketing.

I always recommend focusing your marketing locally. Online Marketing is just as effective country wide but has no future if your business fails to take off.

For example, if you are a plumber in London then focus on local online marketing campaigns which will bring customers from surrounding areas like Barnet and Camden.

Even though all of England may be searching for “plumbers,” you firstly want to get the local opportunities as they are more likely to convert for you and second, will be a lot less expensive. Remember, we are looking for affordable (Little and often) and measurable marketing opportunities.

I always recommend a good google my business page.

Google my business is a website where you can create a listing of your business and optimize. These results often appear at the top of the Page for a search and Maps for companies in the area.

Google pages is intuitive, most people can get a full profile up and running in an hour or 2. I do recommend taking the time to research though, as any online tool the more professional you present yourself – the more magnetic you will become.

Facebook Adverts

The next thing I recommend is Facebook ads. They’re affordable and very effective at targeting your specific audience. They also have many apps which make it easy to create animated videos or photo slideshows with music. This has proven to be an effective Growth Marketing tool.

Facebook ads can be very affordable and sniper effective if you understand the rules of engagement. Make your ad/Offer relevant to your audience and target your audience as accurately as possible. Wasted clicks from people outside your geography or simply not needing your product offering can be hugely costly.

Take some time to research Facebook ads or engage a professional company to help set up your targeting and Growth Marketing Strategy.

Website Design

Although earlier I said the most important rule in business is to get customers to your door (virtual or physical) you do need a well functioning and user-friendly website.

  • Ensure that your website is mobile responsive.
  • Use high quality images and videos to help tell the story of your business or product offering.
  • Make sure your website is fast – People disappear fast if your site is slow to load (High bounce rate)
  • Make the menus clear and as simple as possible. No user wants to sift through 98 different menus to try to find what they want.
  • Have Call to actions in the Users eye line

Use Video – Use video on Your website, Your social, Your Ads, Your directly listings, Your Back links, Your Newsletters, Your sales email. – Video is a format that simple speaks to some users better than the written word.

Don’t exclude potential business clients because your marketing is stuck in the stone age!

Video is one of the best ways to market your business.

As well as being on trend, video content has been proven to be more effective than most online digital marketing types.

Monitor your marketing

In today’s world, there are an array of free and premium analytic tools to measure and monitor your marketing.

You will be able to track your progress, compare trends and make changes as necessary.
